"your turn tuesday" gallery #1

Well today is "your turn tuesday” gallery of all of the wonderful haikus that were submitted by folks. I am overwhelmed with how many of you took the time to write a haiku to the image above.  Here are the 30 haikus that were submitted. Most were written by first time writers of haiku. The haikus are listed in the order in which they were received. Thank you all so much for making this experiment a success!! So next Tuesday I will post another “your turn tuesday “ picture for folks to write a haiku to. Enjoy! 🦊❤️

what’s really out there?

just imagining
looking deeply into space
and seeing lanterns 🦊❤️

In the background of this photograph is a beautiful old observatory that I can see from my deck. I often imagine myself sitting in its inner sanctum looking up into space.

tommy a’la hockney

he’s a pot of gold
at the start or at the end
of a perfect hike 🦊❤️

shooting fish in a barrel

urgent - the globe warms
don’t have kids and shoot the deer
oh... such sitting ducks 🦊❤️

remembering red

as the years pass by
fall’s red leaves remind me less
of the taste of wine 🦊❤️

serving early mass

two candles flicker
in the chilly morning church
the priest’s old spice smell 🦊❤️

when it rains it pours

streets and three dog bowls
filled with the night’s heavy rain
sunny day ahead 🦊❤️

metrics

my tape measure mind
a tailor sizing me up
never enough thread 🦊❤️

I’m alway measuring this, that and especially myself. It’s not over achievement - it’s over doing.  Quick analysis - my calculation that there’s not enough me. Always measuring....
