As we walked along the beach, Yulan asked , “What causes waves?” I offered what little I knew on the subject - which is not much. For a second I was tempted to google the question to establish my expertise on the topic, but I didn’t. I got distracted as I watched the waves end their long journeys right in front of where I was standing. Sometimes the wonder and awe caused by something is more enlightening than the knowledge about what it is or where it came from. At least that’s true for me… 🦊❤️
